Today we had the opportunity to host Ambassador Jan Haukaas, Head of the OSCE Mission to Montenegro, together with members of the OSCE team. In an open and constructive discussion, we presented our work through EkoGard and the initiatives “Očistimo Rožaje” and “Daruj Rožaje.” We spoke about numerous challenges, including illegal dumping sites, forest degradation, river pollution, as well as cultural and social issues that affect our community.

We placed special emphasis on the importance of protecting Mount Hajla as a nature park, educating young people, and developing sustainable tourism through workshops, camps, and active participation in projects. The Ambassador and OSCE representatives expressed understanding and strong interest in our initiatives, as well as readiness to jointly seek solutions.

After the meeting, and despite the rain, we carried out a clean-up action — another small but important step in preserving nature. Together, we showed that love for nature knows no boundaries.
