Break the Fake je edukativni projekat usmjeren na jačanje medijske pismenosti mladih kroz radionice, praktičan rad i javne aktivnosti s ciljem prepoznavanja i suzbijanja dezinformacija u digitalnom prostoru.

Context & Problem

Young people are exposed daily to fake news, manipulative content, and unverified information, often without sufficient knowledge and tools for critical analysis. The project was created in response to the need for a systematic development of media literacy.

Project Objectives

  • improve young people’s ability to recognize disinformation
  • develop critical thinking and responsible information practices
  • equip participants with skills to create quality digital content
  • encourage peer education and public dialogue

Implemented Activities

  • educational workshops on media literacy
  • practical training in digital design and video production
  • peer-to-peer workshops in schools
  • creation of a mural with a message of critical thinking
  • media appearances and a final public event

Results & Impact

  • all planned educational modules successfully implemented
  • participants acquired concrete skills for analyzing media content
  • increased visibility of media literacy topics in the local community
  • intercity cooperation among young people successfully established

Sustainability & Follow-up

The project laid the foundation for further media literacy workshops and the integration of this topic into other educational programs of EkoGard.
