Who We Are

Who We Are

EkoGard is a non-governmental organization working to protect and preserve natural spaces, develop environmental awareness, and strengthen the relationship between communities and the places in which they live.

We were founded on the belief that nature should not be seen merely as a resource, but as a shared heritage that requires care, knowledge, and responsibility.

Our work is based on the conviction that lasting change can only be achieved by connecting ecology, education, culture, and active community participation. We place special emphasis on working with young people, believing that they are the key agents of future change and the guardians of the places in which they grow up.

Our Work

How We Work

How We Work

Our work is built on three interconnected principles that together shape our approach to nature and place.

Protection of Nature

Through environmental actions, fieldwork, and advocacy, we work to preserve natural resources and address concrete environmental challenges in local communities.

Understanding Place

For us, art, culture, and creative processes are essential tools for developing environmental awareness. Through workshops, exhibitions, and educational programs, we help communities and young people see nature and landscape more deeply — not only as functional spaces, but as places of value and meaning.

Responsible Use of Space

We promote sustainable ways of experiencing and using natural spaces that respect ecosystems, preserve local identity, and contribute to community development without disturbing natural balance.

Approach

Our Approach

EkoGard works through transparent practice, open communication, and close cooperation with the local community, institutions, and partners. We do not see ecology as an isolated field, but connect it with education, creative expression, and the everyday lives of people.

Over the years, we have implemented numerous initiatives — from environmental actions and educational programs to creative and socially engaged projects — always with the goal of keeping nature alive, accessible, and preserved for generations to come.

Mission

The mission of EkoGard is to contribute to the preservation of nature and the improvement of quality of life through ecology, education, art, and community work.
We strive to inspire and empower citizens, especially young people, to recognize the value of the places in which they live and to actively participate in their protection and responsible use.

Vision

Our vision is a community that understands its place, cares for nature, and develops in harmony with its possibilities.
We believe in a future in which ecology, culture, and sustainable development are an inseparable part of everyday life, and natural resources are preserved through knowledge, responsibility, and collective action.
